VZW's and AT&T's Upper/Lower 700 MHz spectrum "beachfront property" is akin to two tiny slivers of land on the beach -- enough to build only one or two houses. Clearwire's BRS/EBS 2500-2600 MHz spectrum is the equivalent of a huge, contiguous tract of undeveloped land. The "beachfront property" is nice, no doubt. But once it is occupied, further growth must come from elsewhere, hence the interest in Clearwire.

If you fail to appreciate that, then your understanding of capacity and bandwidth is "garbage."

It's just too bad Clear's 2.5GHz can't penetrate a fly and requires a gazillon more towers let alone a **** load of cash which they don't have to cover an area.

I'd rather have 10mpbs with a decent signal and low pings inside my office than 20mbps outside with no signal indoors. Just saying.

Is there anything a smartphone can do that creates a noticeable difference between 10 and 20 MBPS? Are you the Batman???
