A nice phone for the end of 2010

The screen may be physically large and very nice, and the phone is dual-core, but the screen resolution is now approaching obsolescence. qHD displays are on the high-end phones now, and 720p displays will be out by the end of this year, making this one especially low-res by comparison. Higher resolution make text VERY crispy. Depending on what you're doing with your phone, you may prefer the better quality of the rest of the display, but for me, I'd rather have the much better text of a higher-res display.

I have the Samsung Droid Charge, with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and it is very, very bright, crisp, and sharp.

I've seen phones with SuperAMOLED Plus displays, and I've seen phones with Super LCD displays but with qHD resolution, and I prefer the text on the qHD display, even though SAP are better at most everything else. Depends on your personal preferences, as I said. I think coming out with a WVGA resolution phone now is rather odd, no matter the display technology, considering 720p display are coming out this year.

When you say 720p displays coming out this year are you referring to the rumored next Nexus phone?

I was a little disappointed to see that they stayed with the 480x800 display as well. It seems a little strange that everything else on the phone would be top of the line, but the resolution would be on par with a phone they released last year. I know they modified it so that the screen looks sharper, but I'm still a little surprised. I wouldn't say that's a deal breaker though. Unless you have it next to a qhd or 720p display, you probably wouldn't notice the lack of resolution in comparison.
