Don't throw android under the bus with apple when has always android made the user aware of location when apple didn't. I don't recall an uproar over android or users demanding location be removed from the os.

Bias? I don't think so. I didn't throw anyone under the bus. The senate held a hearing about both companies' practices and that's what I reported.

Wasn't talking about that im talking about you throwing android in with apple over the secret location software controversy, again android never made it a secret and informs you of location data and logging when you first set up the phone and also give a choice weather or not if you want that feature turned on. Apple did not and had to push an update that didn't include the location logging because of the consumer uproar. Your article is incorrect and IMO looks biased towards providing false information about android.

Android and Apple were BOTH called to this conference.

Your irrational use of the "bias" tag does a disservice to everyone.

And yes, I'm an Android Fanboy, and I'm still telling you that.

The last sentence says "Google hasn't provided an update for Android devices yet."

This implies that Android has the same 'problem' and that it needs to be 'fixed' with an update.

I don't think that is correct.

I can't remember who found this out, or what post it was in, but Apple put a section in their terms & conditions that flat out tells you the phone will be collecting and storing location data.

For that, it was a matter of people reading the whole T&C or just clicking "I Accept."

If Apple didn't have that in their T&C, I'm sure they would be in a lot more legal hot water.

I happen to know a ton of bus drivers. Not one of them can recall anything or anyone being thrown under theirs while they were driving. In fact, they claim instances like this are very rare.

Based on this info, I would say Eric is a free man.

Further investigations have indeed pointed to some apples that fell from trees and landed in roads, were squashed under tires from vehicles. However, I have searched and found no indication of an Android being admitted to any hospital for injuries sustained by being hit or ran over by vehicles.

I know that when you install Google Maps it specifically asks if it can 'send location data to Google'...they promise that the data is 'in aggregate', 'will not be used to personally identify you' and is being sent 'to improve the quality of the software'
