Apple Blames iPhone 4 Reception Issue on Faulty Formula
Is it just me....
I mean i see them admiting to "bad math" but that's it. Everything else is fine and when they fix the issue with this update you going to be able to see more acuretly how bad your coverage is.
I know someone is going to call me a troll but this to me looks like the blame game.
Actually Verizon drops from 3G to 1x more than AT&T dropped from 3G to EDGE. I'm no fanboy, I'm an honest consumer.
And from what I hear, Apple uses the same chip set for it's radios as hundreds of other phones on the market.
If it is true that the iPhone is unaffected by this issue in medium to high coverage areas then I would say yeah, the blame lies with AT&T for it's coverage and not with Apple.
I bought a droid for my girlfriend, and I have an iPhone, I use both of them side-by-side in our travels (and we travel a LOT) and I'd say the idea that AT&T has worse coverage than Verizon is little more than a marketing campaign ran by none other than Verizon.
Reality is 3G for me was better with ATT. Verizon drops to 1x quite a bit.
(my voice is dripping with sarcasm, in case you can't hear it...) 😉
I just remember the "thats a dead zone" campaign ran by Verizon touting their coverage as 100% and laughing to myself when my frustrated friends on Verizon couldn't even send a text message at my house.
The situation is reversed for some people, AT&T not working where Verizon does but in MOST places they are on equal footing. And in those places AT&T has far superior speed and versatility than Verizon with it's 3G network.
NYC coverage through AT&T is demonstratively better than it was just six months ago, and arguably better than Verizon at the moment.
I've had every major provider except T-Mobile because my brother warned me away before I looked to them, and I've been with AT&T twice now. I'm no fanboy but I've got to say I like it better than Sprint or Verizon.
I broke down in the middle of a pass in the mountains in CA and had reception and the only place I've ever *not* had reception, was only data services (calls still worked) and it was in the middle of a movie theater and why would you need signal there?
As far as the iphone and Apple's press statement goes...if Apple sat there and figured in the power needed to maintain a signal they thought to be considerably higher than it was, is there any possibility that there are hardware changes that need to be mad...
(continues)
also i have verizon and i've been east to west north and south and yes there are dead spots. most of the time it's in areas that have no civilzation. My point is that is i've heard far more AT&T customers say that AT&T has bad coverage then i Have other people say that AT&T has bad coverage. Some marketing yes but mostly the truth.
where i work there is an AT&T store right around the conner, but almost no signal around here most of the people get no signal. while i have 2-3 bars of 3G all the time.
There are 2 billion reasons (advertising budget) why most people believe Verizon has better coverage.
Here in the Northwest Verizon's coverage is adequate and they thank God every day for Sprint and US Cellular so they can include their coverage in their "red zone" AT&T has better rural coverage in most of the region.
You my friend are a troll who is vastly uninformed as well as ignorant of English grammar and spelling. Your posts are almost unintelligible.

GENIUS SPRINT ROAMN ON VERIZON TOWERS ARE YOU HIGH?
Coos Bay (Oregon 5) is a weak spot for AT&T. The rest of the Northwest is definitely covered better by AT&T except where Verizon is allowed to roam on US Cellular who has the best coverage in their markets except WA 4.
