Verzion is just playing catch up with Sprint and the Evo. To little to late. Sorry Verzion 😢

considering this phone has most likely been in development for months. It's their answer to the evo for screen size, but I'd hardly call it "too little to late."

That's the beauty of android, there isn't one phone that is the only option. Just because you like the evo doesn't mean you have to snub all other android phones. It's possible to admit that there is more than one choice out there for people.

True. It's just from what I've seen I would say the Evo packs in more for the money. I personaly would rather not pay the extra money for the Evo. Plus Verzion has NHL contract and I am a huge hockey fan

People get too wound up in specs. Chances are that 90% of the people using the evo, i phone4, or this phone will ever get close to using it to it's full advantage.

It's just good that there are comparable phones on several carriers so that it makes the companies work hard to get new customers.

The competion between them is good for us. That means we get the best of the best phones out there. The more they challange each other the better the techonlogy will be and the cooler the phone is for us 😁

True. But chances are that the ten percent who will frequent sites like this one or more likely Howard's Forum. Anyway...since when has owning a Porsche meant driving it as fast as it can go?

We'll have to see some offical benchmarks, but all the unofficial ones put this phone smoking ANYTHING but a froyo equipped device, meaning that once it gets froyo it will smoke them.

OMAP processors are far superior to Snapdragon when it comes to efficiency per mhz. THe evo is a great phone, but it all comes down to getting the device that works where you need it to.

Very true. I personally love my Hero and I can't imagine changing it. I only wish it had live backgrounds

Oh, so that's the benefit of OMAP over Snapdraon? Efficiency?

Man there is !!NO!! reason my Droid can't be used as a Wifi router!!!

Efficiency, and that OMAP phones ship with seperate GPU, which mean a much better multimedia experience

I'm just looking forward to my frinkin web browser working
2-5x faster!!!! And being able to store apps to memory card.

I don't like storing things on the device, it boggs it down.

Hey Jay, did you feel the earthquake?

Not really. Then again, when it was apparently happening, I was on the phone with someone scheduling a job interview. so I was kinda distracted.

When the worst thing one can say about the SuperSonic (Evo) is that it is on a weaker network it is very close to iphone status, huh?

I wonder why they are charging for the mobile hot spot with this phone but not the Pre Plus or Pixi Plus

Because they were trying to clear inventory of the Palms?

Good point. I would rather get a Palm phone then have to pay extra for the hot spot. I wonder if they plan on changing it for customers that already have it on their account

Yeah prior to today's announcement all tethering plans were 5gb. I think this is Verizon's way of moving toward smaller data plans.

for tethering maybe.

Remember, the smartphone data was still unlimited.

They can't screw with my unlimited data cause I'm under contract til 03/23/12.

I'm sure you know just as much as I do that data plans will probably change a LOT in the next 18-24 months.

I know when I'm finished paying off my credit card that I'm going to get a Netflix/YouTube, and hopefully ?Hulu? enabled Blu-Ray player with !!INTEGRATED!! WifiN, and a Wifi N router and get cable internet!!! Oh yeah!!!!!

verizon's plans will change once they come out with 4g. I dont think they'll limit smartphone data on 3g

I've used about 7.5gigs this cycle, and my billing cycle end tomorrow.

By the time I'm up for upgrade, Nov 2011 there will be an LTE Droid, probably Droid 3, and I certainly hope Vzn isn't as *stingy* with 4G data as IT&T is with 3G data.

If you never remove the feature (when you upgrade) you will likely keep it forever. I still have my grandfathered features from 2005 (Grrrrrrr...Silver Q).

So even when I upgrade, whether it be November 2011 or whenever, I will still be able to keep unlimited?

So what special rate plan do you still have from way back in 05?

The palm and pixi plus weren't selling, they needed to throw something in to sweeten the deal to get the device out the door.

I don't think this will be a problem with the Droid x

Exactly. Who in the hell wants a Palm device! Especially at this stage in the game. Droid X will definately not have a problem

I'd like a Pre, but the Mobile Hot-spot would need to be Unlimited...not 5G limit.
