Qik Admits Problems With HTC Evo 4G Launch
So in other words, you guys are wildly incompetent.
2) You rushed the late software incomplete.
3) Even if it had worked you didn't have the capacity
4) You posted it and then took it down 'until further notice
5) We're talking about a phone that's launching with Sprint.
If carriers, phone manufacturers, and software programmers would agree on a certain issue they won't be caught with their tail between their legs. I'm talking about time and quality, not just time. It seems companies want to get products out so fast that they're willing to sacrifice quality to make a little money.
If I were them, I'd rather work long and hard on something and have customers begging for more than have people taking my product and looking for the nearest toilet. I don't...

But honestly, I'm not surprised. As soon as the rep's got their EVOs, and the video conferencing wasn't ready, I knew it would be an issue. I'm looking forward more to Skype's video chat more anyway.
Yeah there may be a few more apps soon, but quite frankly if you expect this feature to be taken seriously it should've been sold with working videochat from the git-go, or at least a realistic timeframe.
Pre iphone none of the iPhone's capabilities existed. How many apps were available at launch for the original iphone? Very few and what was available was laughable because it was things that already existed on Virgin Mobile $30.00 phones. How long did it take for the iPhone to be able to send pictures over MMS (not as an email attachment)?
Would anyone say that Apple screwed up? Why are there two standards here?
This is an amazing device that leapfrogs the 3GS in many ways. So one feature is not ready at launch. If that is the only negative about this phone then it was wildly successful.
There were over 300,000 sold on the first day. Many more could have been...

Beyond that, Apple didn't say a damn thing- those features didn't exist until Apple added them.
Apple also didn't launch the phone, release MMS a week later, then pull it because they didn't test it out thoroughly.
Sprint however, sold the phone with this feature and it doesn't work for the time being. Sprint/Qik should be doing what Apple does- wait until a feature works properly, then release it.
Enough of this perpetual beta crap.
While the new iphone 4 brings more to the table than its predecessors, it is essentially still an iphone that has fallin short for one more year while the others are leapfrogging into new evolutions.
...I'm glad I don't have a polished turd for a cell phone!
Nor have I had issues with the phone locking up and freezing in the middle of a call (tip of the hat goes to HTC ) or crashing while dialing (tip of the hat goes to Palm)
And uh, you don't need me to tell you the iPhone is as stable as smartphones come (barring a non-touchscreen blackberry, perhaps.)
