Hp only did what it had to do to survive the next tech evolution and that is phones will cancel kill off the laptop and pc's. Smartphones will literally have the same specs as laptops, and pc's in less than 2ys and with it being convenient to carry around sales will increase, and the pc and laptop will be extinct. Apple knows it, and Dell just caught on not long ago announcing a smartphone of there own. Just my prediction of what's coming down the pike.

I can not see PC's becoming extinct. But I can see smartphones becoming closer and closer to the capabilities of what computers do.

I'm at work, in a call center, there is no way they can replace the work computer with a smartphone even though the smartphones will probably have the processor and capabilities to run the program we use at work, but they will not give us all smart phones with bluetooths 🤣 and taking calls from a smartphone, won't happen.

Computers will always be here. Smartphones will probably replace regular cell phones and become the standard for cell phones and become more of a supplement to computers but not a replacement.

Like Consoles killed off computer gaming 🙄 🙄 🙄

Impact... without a doubt.

Kill off? Highly doubt it. Their are things I can do on my PC that I can't, and won't, ever do on my Smartphone.

Screen size, cpu power, graphics power, storage space, etc... all VERY much better on desktop/laptops.

Sure their is room for Smart-Phones... but to claim they will kill off computers is over zealous and stupid.

I agree with this. i do believe peripheral computing with cloud data storage will become more and more popular in the future. I am able to use my "desktop replacement" laptop via HDMI anywhere i go with wireless keyboard/mouse combination, so any where there is a monitor/tv i can turn it into my desktop. I think pretty soon you may be able to do this with your smartphone. which would be sweet. I cant wait for DDR3 and Quad core processors in phones 🤣 🤣 😎
