Who cares at all? Series or no series, due to all the essential features missing or not immediately available, they might as well call it a Microsoft Phone 7 Garbage (Series)!!!

Not a hater, just practical and realistic. I do NOT buy phones on contract and as such do not see a need to blow half a paycheck on a device that, judging by the information that I have seen so far, would be missing the features that Windows Mobile 6.5 and 6.1 had since their release.

So you don't buy phones on contract....

But you pay the same amount the rest of us do per month.

So carriers just pocket the money that would've otherwise subsidized your handset.

Beautiful.

1. Customers have been abandoning the platform in droves.

2. Customer satisfaction on the platform is terrible.

So that'll let you know how relevant those features are in their current implementation.

Maybe they just realized that WinMo in its current state is worthless and a giant headache and are happy to trade its "multitasking" ability for something that can.. I don't know... fetch email reliably.

(Hint: that's the correct answer.)

Jesus Christ, an average joe on the street doesn't give a flying **** about being able to get their email on their phone! Most people on the street buy these phones for coolness factor and perhaps to occassionally check weather, movie listings, transit schedules, prices of something at walmart while shopping at target or vice versa, things like that.

Most business people would use a blackberry device because that's what RIM designed them for: corporate e-mail access. A lot of corporations have adapted iPhones for the same purpose and God bless for doing so because that was not a trouble-free process.

We replaced our BB's with iPhones and it wasn't a problem, but then again my company isn't reliant on legacy technology.

Of course, your entire argument about people buying these new class of phones just to look cool would be true if:

1) iPhones weren't making up a sizable part of ALL web traffic now.

2) Mobile data usage has gone through the roof and even caused AT&T significant problems.

3) Companies such as Pandora didn't report massive gains in subscriber bases

4) 100,000 applications launched in the prior year..

5) Significant monetization of mobile applications in the App store

6) About half of my customers didn't have "Sent from my iPhone" on their signature.

OWNED.

Your face is OWNED because you are running out of steam. So why don't you put your iphone down and take a break!?

1. Show me web traffic stats from a reputable web traffic monitoring company to back up your argument. Until you can do so, be quiet.

2. AT&T is running an antiquated limited network with not enough backbone infrastructure to support increased data usage not all of which comes from iphones. A lot of it comes from HTC, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, and LG phones.

3. Pandora is not the only such company out there.

4 and 5. Proprietary apps that have to be approved by Apple in order to be included in the app store before they can be obtained and loaded onto a proprietary device using a proprietary software i.e. iTunes. Wow w...

One answer to your point # 1 is that many apps on the iPhone use data whether the user is actively doing anything with the phone or not. The app is online doing stuff if it is open or if the phone is on. This is the greatest weakness of the iPhone. This is why it is creating such a bandwidth nightmare for AT&T. It will be worse for Verizon with their narrow channels and less bandwidth next year.
If Apple could do like every other manufacturer does and create network efficiencies into their product to actually work with the carriers instead of trying to give the carriers the feeling that Apple is doing them a favor.

I am using a Samsung Jack and have none of the "problems" you Microsoft haters report. Before that I used a Blackjack

People try to be "individuals" but conform to the social "norms". What would happen if you were to take the branding labels off of the products we buy and let the product stand on its own merits?

We elect our officials not based on their ability to do the job we are electing them for but by what influential people say. Conversely we hold opinions about an elected official based on what the talking heads say.

We are all guilty of taking a position and being willing to modify it based on what others say. None of us are exempt from this. We crave acceptance from others and join various communities from which to gain it.

People are individuals but when the information sources are heavily controlled or just plain b.s. they have few op...
