Nice rebound for Sprint. I like to see them stay afloat.

I *might* consider Sprint if the HTC Supersonic ends up being everything I've been hearing. Sprint tv is a very cool feature.

Sprint has made some amazing moves in recent months. Sadly, they're the only one going wimax, and being on that island may be a problem. If anyone else was going that way rather than LTE I'd say Sprint was in great shape for the future. But, having no roaming agreements on the 4g network when AT$T and Verizon are able to work together to some degree is going to be a nightmare.

Ok, so if there isn't any WiMAX where I am I can always use Rev.A which isn't too bad.

Btw, I have a ? abou the rumored WiMAX HTC Supersonic, since the data will be WiMAX, do you think it will be able to do voice & data simultaneusly?

It will have dual radios. One for Voice and the other for Data. Both radios could work at the same time and more. It will also have built in VoIP as well.

AT&T is the only carrier I've ever been with, over 8yrs now. But I am very, very tempted to switch to Sprint for the HTC Supersonic, assuming it ends up being everything I've been hearing. I wonder if theres any chance of the Supersonic having a newer version of Android than 2.1 by the time it comes out, I think I heard June?

Jay, don't you have Clear now? I'm assuming you like the service since you are thinking of going to sprint on a wimax phone. I'm tempted to switch here in Philly but I might wait for LTE. Is the service spotty and are the speeds really faster than 3G. I've had Verizon for the past 10 years.

No not right now, I had to minimize my budget. But I use my N95 to tether via wifi so I do still have access on my laptop. Clear is a tad spotty in Las Vegas, but not it's not bad at all. The speeds are as advertised 3-6mbps, there were times I got upwards of 10mbps and have even gotten 15mbps a few times.

I've reasearced Android some already, so I know there is a way to tether using an app called PDAnet.

I'm in Portland and I have a buddy with Clear who is getting a constant 25mbps with bursts up to 80mbps

Not fair!!!!! I've never gotten above 15mbps. Now what your friend is getting in Portland is what I consider TRUE 4G! I guess they must have better backhaul there than in Las Vegas.

Well Portland was an initial launch market so the product I'm guessing is a bit more mature.

To me, high-speed internet coverage everywhere is not a deal breaker. I really don't expect to have have blazing fast internet in the middle of nowhere-- just a signal to call or text someone. Unless you live in the boondocks, it's going to be rare when you are even off network at all.
