Verizon already started the same program. Expect a change to the way Sprint handles their warranty replacements soon.

this great for the people who need a new phone but cant upgrade for another year, just pay the $7 and wait a week and accidentally throw your phone out the window of you car, while run 80mph and crossing a bridge. BAM just like that a new phone for cheap.

Not so easy. I work for sprint and there is a 30 day process to have to wait from the time of getting the TEP.

Sometimes they do bypass this but lately asurion has been cracking down on the people not waiting 30 days.

Might want to brush up on policy and procedure there pal. You are giving out incorrect information.

Not so much. The rule is you have to have a working phone when TEP was added. They check by making sure there was usage after the service was added to your line. If someone calls in at 9:00 AM and adds TEP, calls their mom and while talking drops the phone into a lake, Asurion will honor the claim.

Or not. Its the insurance company (ASURION) that has opened the enrollment. They do it every year in March. Sprint's warranty swap policy is expected to stay the exact same.

ESRP is the Sprint side of the service. ERP is Asurion, both are being opened, known as "TEP" combined.

Hmm... I had no idea they did it every year in march. We're probably just hearing about in on the VZW side because they have started cracking down on what is considered in and out of warranty. Long gone are the days of beating the crap out of your phone and getting it replaced for $50 in a store.

Well VZW should do a better job letting us know about this here in Texas because neither myself nor my DM saw it buried deep within Infomanager. Thank GOD our rep told me.

Asurion sucks they screw you and then void your warranty over petty sh*t. Only and idiot would buy this insurance program! You pay all this money in and you get a sh**ty phone.

Asurion has always provided me good coverage. And the few times I've had to contact them afterwards, went seamlessly. They now offer a 1 year warranty on the models they provide as well. But if you beat your phones to sh1t and expect them to replace it for free that rediculous! It's like car insurance. If you wreck your car, you pay a deductable and get it fixed. If the 'fix' isn't up to par, they will sent you another one within a year. But if you crash it again after it was 'fixed' you have to pay!

I agree with the comment that Asurion provides a great service to our customers. They would much rather pay $89 than $569 for a new Droid. As far as them sending out bad equipment, maybe in the past but only rarely now.
And it helps reduce the churn in my store.
As far as the non-ruler goddess actually working for Asurion, I seriously doubt that. Maybe a competitor of theirs, because all the Asurion reps I've seen aren't that dumb!

You're probably in one of the red-headed step child areas.... I would have to guess West Texas.

Nope, but even if I were, that VZW Team needs to be aware of this also. This is HUGE news.
