This article is incorrect. The promotion has been going on for 2 months, and its not a T-Mobile offer. Its an offer directly from Blackberry. And the phone must be working, its not a recycling program. If you buy a blackberry on T-Mobile's network, you can mail your old phone to Blackberry and they will send you a $50 check.

:/ I guess its alright. If you don't want to take the time to sell it yourself. A Curve can easily be sold to a friend for $50 or a stranger for $80-100. More if your greedy and have the time. For those who don't want to bother though, I guess this is cool. Works out for RIM even more however. They can turn around and sell these curves for $100 with a $50 rebate and still make money.

A $50 check is the same as a $50 credit. Just send the check to your service provider.

You sure its RIM and not a RIM/T-Mobile offer? So any service provider selling RIM curves can offer this? is this a Web Only deal?

Blackberry has been running this program for a while. The phone needs to be working and not have water damage or a cracked screen. You can turn the phone in at the point of sale and get an instant $50 discount off your purchase. The trade in phone does not need to be a blackberry either, they just have to be buying a blackberry. So you can trade in your old razr for $50!!

Now thats hot. Thanks for the updated info.

So customers can trade in a working Samsung 219? Nokia 1680? lol (i know) but I mean, this sounds amazing for Upgrade customers all across the board. More so for the elderly folks who have these (still functional) ancient Nokias.

This is wonderful, now a whole new group of people who can barely use their exsisting razrs are given money to have a more complicated phone, and will be calling to me complain, awesome...not to mention a required $30 data plan will be fun.
