Isn't Sidekick data plans already the same as a smartphone? ($24.99 data, $34.99 data & text)
Blackberry, Android, and Windows Mobile already does this stuff without the montly $5 fee.

So your gonna have a phone that does a fraction of what a PDA does and cost $5 more a month to do it?

Whats another option? Buy a smartphone just so you can use Microsoft Exchange Email?

Why bother when you (the sidekick owner) can simply get the update and keep it moving?

This is for those people who always wished a Sidekick could do more....Now it can.. Enjoy!

Who knows, maybe 1 day the sidekick will become a smartphone...playschool but affordable. "If you want a smartphone but dont want to pay for quality...Take a look at this sidekick...Its a smartphone with Compassion for your wallet".

You don't "simply update" the sidekick, you pay an extra $5 a month for it. Sidekicks never had "compassion for you wallet" they are usually in the $150-$200 range.

They are doing this to sell more sidekicks, not keep existing ones happy (what kind of business owner who needs MS Exchange buy a sidekick in the first place?)
There are plenty of phones that are smartphones and are WAY cheaper then sidekicks and offer way more value and features.

Sidekick LX is $199.99 for new subscribers and an extra $40 for unlimited data/txt/MS Exchange

Blackberry Curve is $149.99 for new subscriberrs and an extra $35 for unlimited data/txt (already has MS Exchange support)

Dash 3G is $169.99 with the same options

HTC G1 is $149.99 with the sa...

You continue to talk about new customers and their options. Meanwhile I'm talking about existing customers who want more out of their sidekicks.

If you already own a sidekick and can not upgrade nor have the funds to buy a new smartphone, here is a update for you.

If you don't want all the complications a smartphone can provide you along with its many functions, then a sidekick could be for you also.

Last but not least; it doesn't matter how much you might dislike the sidekick nor does it matter how much better a Dash, Blackberry or G1 are. We have options. There is no 1 better phone, there is only personal preference. I could lay down all 4 phones (Dash, Blackberry 8900, G1 and Sidekick 09) with the price right next to them and fe...
