This is kinda hard to believe. We got.. what the g1? is there another out yet? its been how long?

htc magic, general mobile DSTL1, Samsung announced that it will have 3 android devices this year, Motorola announced as well that it will carry multiple android devices this year as well, android is not going anywhere anytime soon

I know but how long has the g1 been out? im not against it at ALL i think its a great idea and id probably get one of these new phones im just saying its hard to believe since its been such a slooooooooooow start. so yall can stop hating on me cause im not hating on android, i like it, but either side of the fence there is no denying its been a slow start.

Im not hating, but they launch the g1, the first android device, they want to make sure that its going to sell before they launch it on 2 dozen devices.

Don't forget how quick this business moves compared to a lot of others. Android hasn't even been in beta for a year yet, and it's not like there's a lot of phones that have the option to install a new OS/UI at will just to try out.

The other manufacturers (other than HTC, that is) likely waited until they saw some user reviews & sales figures on the G1 before the committed to Android any further. It would be a safer way to go with an untried OS. Now that the G1 has sold over a million units & Android is getting rave reviews, people are jumping on the bandwagon as quick as is reasonably possible.

And based off those hardware specs it is not difficult to load an OS to similar hardware specs in a different form factor.
