I hope there is some sort of notice that you are getting a collect call so you can hang up or something. I don't have service with att so I don't care but it's good to know in case I get another call about it. That's really stupid but I can see why they are doing it. I've gotten many calls from customers wanting to be able to receive a call on their cellphone from someone who is in jail. There is some sort of 3rd party pre-paid service that inmates can use to make calls so if they don't have money and couldn't call collect they would be sol.

It is provided by a 3rd party Vendor which is not affiliated with AT&T. It advises them that smoeone is attempting to place a collect call and they are clearly advised the cost to accept the call, and receive a confirmation at the end of the call via sms. 'They have to verify twice to accept the purchase. After agreeing 2nd time they are chrg. So yeah they can't dispute that.

Collect calls for wireless phones. That's hilarious. Would be a good fit for those in county lockup for the night where Biff needs to call his Mom after busted with dope or DUI. 🤣
