Several questions...

1) Are all of these Iphones 2G that were possibly traded in?

2) Are these originally "B" stock phones that didn't make it to the finish line?

3) If "no" to the first two questions, how is it they have so many refurbs laying around for resale?
It makes me question the durability of the product.

Sorry! I re-read the article and it says 3G which really makes me express my third question from my first post.

The single biggest source of refurbished phones is from refunded phones.

If a phone is returned to the store, it can't just be resold, it has to get reflashed and possibly repaired.

I can imagine alot of iphones were bought by people who didn't understand that they needed the data plan, or perhaps it was just too much phone for them or something.
