This was a terrible move on Sprints part. There is no way that these two companies will be able to coordinate well enough for the service to run smoothly. One hiccup in coverage or cell distruption and and it will be a battle to get the other company out to service it. Although it is rather fun to see sprint spiral down the toilet like last weeks turd that didnt get flushed.

Sprint and many of its peers have been selling towers and then leasing them back to use.

With this sale, expected to be completed in about 90 days, Sprint will continue to own only a relative handful of the 65,000 towers that support its national network, Fisher said.

Still have a 'few' towers left. Sprint isn't the only company to do this either. This is nothing new. Just that its a larger then normal deal.

Ha ha I guess it isn't your's either otherwise you would know that Sprint has been selling the living daylights out of the Instinct and a few other phones instead of the continued mass exodus of subscribers you squawked about earlier.

I really wish people would stop making comments about Sprint going under. The people that work for Sprint have mortgages, families, etc to take care of. Why would you wish for someone to lose their job??? 😡

You my friend are WRONG! A vast majority of the people that sell ANY cell phones are good hard working people. Don't know who you are what you do and I don't really care but WE are all citizens of this country and when WE cut each other down WE just let the real enemy in. I make my living selling phones and do a good job at it. Why? Because I take care of the people who buy from me. Sprint is just another Cell phone company just like all those others. They sell a product best that they can end of story. Stop bashing the people that work hard!

i think your response may have been misguided..
jr is usually a pretty compassionate person (except when it comes to stupid customers) and I think he was saying the people that wish for others to lose jobs and homes etc. are the grade A jerks. that's how I read it at least

You are correct. Didn't realize that my post was confusing. 🤭

I'm working on the compassion thing. It really isn't stupid customers who irk me but trolls who post stuff that is either false or irrelevant to the forum. I actually feel the same way about the guys who crash the party over on the VZW, AT&T and T-Mobile sites.

I don't even have a problem with negative stuff when it's posted HERE, on a thread that...

this is definately a fishy move on sprints behalf. seems to me that what they are doing is milking a dying cow for all its worth before bailing out.

sprint is not bailing out. it is true that sprint as we knew it will be changing. they are getting ready to change to the new generation of voice calling and data which will be several years ahead of everyone else.

Is this really news. This has been on the slate for quite awhile, RCR profiled this months ago.

Sprint is one of the few carriers that operates/owns its towers. Although I think they need an infusion of capital right now, the amount they are receiving in return seems rather low IMO. I guess tower sites are loosing value just like the American Dollar.

Verizon/Cingular, etc have been using people like Crown Capital and American Tower for years.
