Then they would have like 160 million customers!

We would just have to deal with cell phone plans starting at $250 a month.......

If that's the case..... MONOPOLY!!!
I am really scared about the direction that the cell phone market is taking towards monopoly or oligopoly. I wonder what the Congress should think about this.....

They will wait till they are a huge monopoly, then jus bust em up like they did with att back in the day. Then they will slowly but surely come back together... cycle of life.

They are too busy worrying about steroids in sports to deal with real issues though.

Congress will think whatever the industry lobbyists tell them to think, while shaking their hands and accepting the large donations to their next election campaign 😛

It's funny, in my business classes almost every single economic topic can be related to the wireless industry.

It depends on where you live. I lived in an area where Verizon had so many complaints that that particular market, in the past, makes Sprint look good today by the same standards. Yeah, really. I don't know if they've improved in that area, but being the only wireless carrier, what would a customer switch to -- a network of tin cans and string or battery operated walkie talkies?

Im not talking about the service in any area im talkin about the sofware that at&t uses in thier phones i dont know how many customers i had talked to with issues in that area its because they unlike other cell phoen companys dont put thier phone through rigorous testing before putting them out on the market

One thing that can differ is that with GSM you can just swap SIM cards into a network compatible unlocked handset. The voice with undoubtedly work, but the data and multimedia messaging may be a different story.

I agree...I do not understand why anyone would want to have service with AT&T. There coverage is good in some areas but crappy in others. There pricing is way too high and there customer service is poor. I think US cellular is by far the best company in the country. They only offer service in 26 states but no matter where I go in or out of the country I have always had great service and have never had a dropped call. Furthermore, the pricing at US Cellular is really good and the customer service is outstanding.

Just had to get that off my chest. Its so frustrating to have AT&T as a thorn in the side.

Are you for real???
AT&T is still the largest tele-communications company in the world. Now, that doesnt make them the best in every particular market but they sure wouldnt be one of the most admired company in the world by being bad. And of course this isnt my opinion, this is from Fortune, Wall street journal,etc...
They dont test thier phones????
They have always retested manufactures phones before launch, more so than any other company. That is why T-mobile seems to launch new phones prior to them (i.e.-pearl)not to mention the original moto Q was offered to AT&T first but didnt pass thier testing standards, and we all know what a problem that device was for Verizon before all the upgrades.
