What types of devices?

Would headsets apply? They can get so much usage that it might not be beneficial to have them going on and off all the time, though it would make for markably longer standby times. At first I thought USB dongles would be good with this technology, but they draw power from the computer or printer they're plugged into.

I'm sure if the technology comes to fruition, it will be used, but does anybody know how?

If I had to guess they'd be used for data transfer from device to device or comp to comp... possbily even for things like iPods and pocket storage devices in the future.

The way it looks it wouldn't work on a headset because of the rapid on/off swtiching.

I wonder if they'll start using it for some sort of advertizing purposes. Maybe I could pair my phone with a specific brand of advertizing and when I walk by a store with a bluetooth phone it will recognize it and start it talking to me no matter what store I'm at.

Like without an option to block it? That'd be crazy and abused. I do NOT want advertisements all the time. That would be worse than telemarketers.
