☹️ It's sad, Schaumburg IL. based Motorola which is from my neck of the woods would go to some Indian company. Motorola is struggling because they're not trying hard enough. We're talking about a company who made such ingenious devices like pagers which of Motorola I had purchased many as a teenager and adult. Cellular phones like the beautiful Star-Tac. CB radios etc etc. Motorola has the capability to destroy LG and the rest of the other companies because they have true ingenuity. BRING JOBS BACK TO THE UNITED STATES! Stop paying $3 an hour to workers in Mexico to make your products. It's embarrassing. Come on (|\/|) you can NOT sell out!! Failure is not an option!!

Motorola is still in business. They just don't want to be part of the personal cellular devices market anymore because they don't think its worth being part of their portfolio of products and services.

Bring jobs back to the US? Well, how about American's do something to make them more valuable than other people from the rest of the world. Did you know that China and India have more Engineering graduates than the United States? Geez ... why keep the jobs in American when there are clearly more skilled employees overseas?

Motorola = American company = giving up and going overseas. Americans are indeed getting lazy. Why do you figure jobs are going overseas and international companies are making bank in the US? americans are very ...

You try going to school and then coming out on top...The average tuition is outrageous!!! So you end up with a degree needing to make at least enough to pay off student loans and eat. How many entry level jobs will afford that??? Not many. While students from other countries come over on grants and scholarships. With nothing to pay back in the end. It is a great opportunity for them but it makes other American students pay for it. Lazy is not always the answer. I took a full class schedule and worked three jobs. We are not all lazy!!!

Quite frankly, its not that we are lazy etc (infact, probably us univerisities and companies yet probably total the highest number of patents and inventions).. its just economics.. when you get something for usd 1, there is no point in paying usd 10..

btw, videocon sucks.. crappy products (they sell consumer electronics etc), full of debt etc..

If Motorola Handsets has to be bought out by a foreign company, hope its not videocon....

missing a critical part of the arguement. It's not that american workers are lazy. It's that American workers are simply more expensive to employ than Malaysiann, Indian, Mexican or wherever. It all starts with Unionized employees and their desire to be overpaid for the work that they are doing. Minimum wage laws DO NOT help workers or companies. Minimum wage laws increase prices because companies that are trying to make a profit need to raise their prices to cover the increases in the minimum wage.
Take a look at the Consumer Price Index everytime the minimum wage increases. during periods where the MW is unchanged, the CPI stays pretty close to inflation given allowances for random factors such as drought and flood. but when the ...
