🤣 just like verizon, to hawk the same stupidly crippled and designed phone to people. for the fact here are the pros and cons of this phone. i had this for for one day and i sent it back.

PROS:
-the physical design (minus the "p" button)
-black or gold color options

CONS:
-it's a samsung

-Stupid verizon pay-us-now user interface which is crippled and useless and ugly.

-applications such as VZ NAVIGATOR can only be used in landscape mode....who the hell is going to have a clip big enough to fit the phone sideways for GPS?

-When on a call the itty bitty keys on the u740 are disabled. as if it isn't hard enough to find the right key in the daylight. it would be impossible in the dark.

the "P" button is in the corner ...

CORRECTIONS:

4'th CON= WHEN ON A CALL THE ILLUMINATED KEYPAD IS DISABLED AND WOULD STAY DARK EVEN WHEN PRESSING BUTTONS.***

jesus obviously you haven't taken an intro marketing class because this is a basic marketing strategy - rebranding/recycling then remarketing it. works every time.

The phone is ok, not my favorite. It's amazing how many customers I have had in recently asking for the "alias". Apparently the marketing is working.

ATT would never get away with that. Their users are far too phone savvy.

Well, to be honest and I use AT&T, most aren't any different. But at least you can unlock and de-brand most gsm phones.

I also don't think Samsung phones are crap, they have some nice ones, for the lower to mid-level phones they have some decent offerings.

You're just hating cuz they're making billions of dollars and you aren't. it is what it is. there are three types of people in this world - people that make things happen, people that watch things happen, and people that say "what happened?"

i know its great marketing strategy. won't people see through it?

or are the verizon customers lemmings?

lets get shafted on the UI, then the crippled bluetooth and now... same phone different name 😈

Not to mention crappy screen resolution.

No. The average consumer will not see through it. That's why it's a great marketing strategy, not a bad one.

"Its the network"

I recieved an email from a VEriaon user today and the sig was

"Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry"

I mean like who cares what an email was sent on? Really. I replied and included a line...

"Sent from my Dell Inspiron 1705"

"

It's an automated message. They have that with other carriers too. It's a blackberry thing. I don't your colleague realizes that there are settings to disable it ...

Sadly this trend isn't only from VZW and their BB's, the iPhone does the same, but can be easily removed in the settings. I'm sure it can be changed or removed if one so wanted from the Blackberry, no matter the carrier.

AS long as kool-aid drinking Verizon users keep paying for this crap "becasue its the Network", Verizon has no incentive to change the way they do business.

Deal with it.
