How is it wasting money if people are happy with EDGE+WiFi+Longer battery life? Did people who purchase a DVD movie when Blu-Ray or HD-DVD movies are clearly the future waste their money? Remember even with the release of the 3G iPhone that there will be plenty of people who live in areas that have little or no 3G coverage.

We'll see how many early adopters there are with this product - or how many people wait a minimum of 60 days to see if the price drops 1/3.

Sorry but "new iphone every 2 months?" Have I missed something? How many iPhones have been released since the announcement in January 2007 or since the release this summer? A 3G iphone in 2008 would hardly equal to a new iPhone in two months. And how about those RAZRs? Or Blackberrys?

The people that complain about "i dont want to buy a new phone every 2 months" are usually people who don't have money and are jealous. I mean get real. If they realize that people are demanding a new feature, do they REALLY have to wait a few years if they think people will buy it? Why sit on their butts just because some people can't afford it?

This technology should evolve. And if you don't have enough money to keep up with innovation, then don't buy it. I buy a new smartphone every few months. Keep it coming apple!

What about the fad factor with the iPhone. I consider that a waste of money. I work at an AT&T agent and people walk in with unactivated iPhones they've been carrying around for a week asking how to activate them. If you're going to use it for what it can do, or hell, even use it cause you like one feature about it, thats cool with me.

I'm mainly anti-iPhone because of the hype, and also what AT&T conceded because of it. Given how well the 3G works on it, and if the third party apps come in big numbers, I'll check it out. Be hard with out some feedback from a button...

I do know that if you buy an iphone in an Applestore, they will activate on the spot for you, they have a Mac ready and waiting.

Can I ask you a question, do AT&T Corp. stores take cash for the sale of an iPhone?

Yeah but knowing Apple:

1) you still won't be able to replace the battery yourself.

2) the phone still won't support MMS.

3) the 3G radio won't work if you have any 3rd party apps installed.

4) if you try to use 3G to download MP3s from anywhere but iTunes it will brick the phone.

5) 6 weeks after the phone is released they'll cut the price by $200 and piss everyone off again.
