Truely revolutionary in the market

I'm hoping that this will have a huge impact on the mobile industry that we need. This software alliance should compliment the pressure that the iPhone put on the carriers to truely provide us with a product that we want and that will be useful for our daily lives.

Between these two events(iPhone and Goog platform) I can imagine the carriers getting back to being service providers in the telecom industry and no longer having a huge control of the content on our mobile devices.

Well about 4 or 5 years ago, Sprint was the big cheese, VZW was just starting (at lease in the area I was in) and TM was 3rd behind Cingular. It might be nice to see Sprint become the top dog again (only if they resolve of their CS issues and make it more streamlined between CS and in-store.)

You have to take in account that google is looking globally and T-Mo and Sprint have been on that page for years! T-Mo is one of the largest if not the largest carriers in the world with over 120 million. Sprint has been working on its wifimax (or whatever its called) program form months now. This is just about the standard around the world for high speed INTERNET searches and for access. it makes alot of sense that they would hook up with these carriers...

Do you realize what this means for the industry????

really

Its a shift from just a phone to taking your world with you. Imagine iPhone like devices for everyone. Imagine having your PC in the palm of your hand. All the capabilities and services intact.

T-mo and sprint are making their own bandwagon. ATT and VZW better jump on

Same here.

Hopefully the Google OS makes life a lot easier, especially for smartphones and mid-range mesasging phones (Blasts, Rumors, things like those).

Hell .. if we're lucky, it won't take up as much space as WM6 but will be compatible with all the nice third-party apps we love *wishful thinking*
