Verizon Wireless Revises Pay-As-You-Go Plans
Will they ever get text messaging plans like At&t's GoPhones?
A step in the right direction for Verizon Prepaid, but not an all-the-way step to match competitors plans.

just to contradict myself, i do like the new core plan. I think it will suit the true minimal users pretty well.
Core Plan - .99 day, .10 per minute, .10 txt = $89.70 (includes unltd IN Calling)
Plus Plan - $1.99 day, .05 per minute, .05 per txt = $89.70 (Hmm.. interesting, so for the same price you get unltd Nights, and Unltd IN)
Power Plan - $2.99 day, .02 per minute, .02 text = $101.70 ($12.00 more, but you get unlimited nights AND weekends, plus in calling)
So, i would say, if you're a day talker it's a toss up between core and plus plan, however I would go with the plus just to have unltd nights for the same price....but if you ...

For the 'core' plan that is:
10 + 20/2 = 20 dollars. You saved 20 dollars plus all the taxes and fees on a regular cellphone.
It has its place.
I averaged 9 dollars per month on Cingular's pretty much equivalent go phone plan, when I had it, and I didn't need to talk on the run often.
