Not for awhile, I dont think. There are 3 prepaid plans though, and the most expensive prepay plan has less expensive prepay rates.

Still a rip off on the access fees, especially the $2.99 access charge.

A step in the right direction for Verizon Prepaid, but not an all-the-way step to match competitors plans.

That is only charged on days you send/receive calls, plus on the $2.99 texts are 2 cents and it's also 2 cents per minute except IN and nights... one of the best deals out there by far.

I'm not so sure about this. Realize $2.99 a day is $89.70 a month, and then you're still gonna make me pay 2 cents per message? How many of us go a whole day without one call or one text message???
PrePay = F'd in the A

just to contradict myself, i do like the new core plan. I think it will suit the true minimal users pretty well.

But, if I am correct with my math........Say if you used your phone atleast once a day...over a 30 day period, and you used 500 minutes and 100 txt msgs... on the below plans it would cost you the following.

Core Plan - .99 day, .10 per minute, .10 txt = $89.70 (includes unltd IN Calling)

Plus Plan - $1.99 day, .05 per minute, .05 per txt = $89.70 (Hmm.. interesting, so for the same price you get unltd Nights, and Unltd IN)

Power Plan - $2.99 day, .02 per minute, .02 text = $101.70 ($12.00 more, but you get unlimited nights AND weekends, plus in calling)

So, i would say, if you're a day talker it's a toss up between core and plus plan, however I would go with the plus just to have unltd nights for the same price....but if you ...

how about 65 a month, 900 minutes and 250 text or picture messages, free n/w, unl in. and you save a minimum of $24.70 a month? even with the extra 400 minutes and 150 messages you still pay back your $400 and save an about $200 over two years.

10 times a month for 20 mins, 50% to people who have Verizon cell phones.

For the 'core' plan that is:
10 + 20/2 = 20 dollars. You saved 20 dollars plus all the taxes and fees on a regular cellphone.

It has its place.

I averaged 9 dollars per month on Cingular's pretty much equivalent go phone plan, when I had it, and I didn't need to talk on the run often.
