don't know which version to get...got a few questions. do you have to pay to use 3g? if so, would it be better to get the 8gb version and not have 3g and just use free wifi when ever avail? (i do not go online a lot.) im leaning toward the 8gb but don't really know the disadvantages of not having 3g. thanks

3G essentially means faster data. So yeah, just like you pay for data use on any phone, you'll have to pay to use 3G data.

Not to beat a dead horse, but does that mean that if I live in Hawaii, and we only have EDGE, and I have "unlimited internet" with AT&T for an additional $20. That when I move to the Mainland I will have to pay more for 3G? Or, if I buy the US version will it just switch over automatically? I appreciate any insight on this as I am trying to decide between the 8gb, and the US version. Also, is 3g that much faster than EDGE? and, how do you know where AT&T actually has 3G? Thanks

EGDE = 2.6
3G = 3

go by that scale .. fast enough to be noticeable, but still not fast enough to not piss you off

as for pricing, unlimited = unlimited .. the exception is tmo, and youre obviously not using them (good man). call at&t and let em know when youre coming to the continential states so they can make any adjustments they do when giving you 3G so you dont have to worry about pricing issues.

coverage .. good luck. dont know. i stay in bigger cities myself, so im almost always fine.
