VZW already offers a phone with WiFi (xv6700) and I beleive they have a couple in the hopper for launch in Q4. Truth be told, it's not the carriers that don't want to offer it but the handset vendors that are the roadblocks. I know a little about this phone and I know that it was Motorola that did not want to offer this device with WiFi. I also know that some of the CDMA carriers inquired about it too. The problem is that WiFi certification is a seperate effort that would cause the device to delayed by months. Based on the sales of some previous WiFi equiped models, most handset vendors feel that the cost and delays associated with adding WiFi is not worth their efforts.

cause they love to cripple they're phones, it's vzw way or no way. thas why they lost out on the iphone(not saying it's the greatest thing but still that thing has so much potetial to give great competition to BB and WM from running on a great OS) look they locked great uses of bluetooth cause they want you to use their PAID services, i know it's a business but hell why make someone pay more when they are shelling out at least 60 bones a month on the basics that you need. I use both services VZW(work)at&t(personal), both have their perks and downsides. I just hate how VZW cripple their phones so much, when they could put the other companies 6ft. down if they allow most the great features such as simple as WIFI. thas why i love my att 8525 an...

1. The iphone is WAY more crippled than any VZW phone. (no GPS, no custom ringtones, no pix msg, no voice activated dialing, etc, etc, etc.)
2. What did vzw cripple on devices such as the Moto Q? OBEX? nope, Q can do that, Bluetooth tethering? nope, Q can do that too.
3. Why would you want to sit and bluetooth someone pictures from your phone that is 30 ft away from you. Normally when people want to send pics, they send it to people that are far away and that would have to use pix msg anyways. There is no real point to having OBEX on regular phones. They already have removeable memory. Why put something else on the phone that has the capability of going wrong and then VZW has to pay their tech support more money to fix OBEX probl...

1. Iphone isn't crippled way more, everything you just said is going to be easily installed through an easy update. The beauty of this phone is in the OS it allows for updates such as voice dialing, pix messages. as i also said b4 it is a business and everyone knows custom ringtones are gonna cost you and once the new version of Itunes comes out i am sure there will be a nice special spot to buy them off of there, and you ask when when, well this is kinda of big year so far for apple(Iphone,iLife08,iWork08,new iMac design, and most important Leopard is still coming) trust me i am not that big of an Apple fan. but i am a bit more open to what they are offering now adays, since MS Vista sucks so bad.
2. i dont have the Q but it not having wif...

the kaiser is by HTC,soon tobe the rumored 8925,Windows Mobile 6, a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 128MB of onboard RAM (yes, RAM, not ROM), and GPS and triband HSDPA. it's gonna be a monster of a phone for us business folks.plus it tilts when you slide it out for a bit of comfort. you have the HTC dash, great phone, and I believe HTC is getting better and better with each phone they come out with. Definetly one of the sleeping giants in the PDA/PHone world here in the states. They are huge over in Europe, all my business friends over there, i just hate how they have great great phones over there. bugs me here in the states how every little thing has to be controlled.

The VX6700 has wi-fi, and unless I've been mislead, I believe that it's free to use.
