doesn't verizon have this feature for free?

the backup assistant is free to vzw users that have an account online, right?

Yes & no. It's only free if you pay your bill online.

as long as you have a my account setup online, then the service is free of charge period !

That part is true, though VZW's phonebook back up (found at www.getbackupnow.com) doesn't have the ability to sync with outlook, yahoo, or aol and VZw's doesn't have the remote erase.

It is true though that its free as long as you sign up for my account, you don't have to be paying your bill there and my account is free.

I don't know about the VZ offering it for free however I know U.S Cellular offers it for free and it's much more then just backing up your contacts online. you can view them remotely on uscc.com/mycontactsbackup, or simply wipe the entire phonebook off of your lost/stolen phone. 🙂

yes, Verizon offers it for free as long as you sign up for My Account on their website.
