You mean to tell me that big companies get hacked and their data compromised? Oh wait, _______ issue was far worse because blah, blah, blah...

The truth is that ANYTHING data based can be hacked eventually by someone. All three national wireless carriers, app makers, computer manufacturers, cellphone companies, etc. have ALL experienced significant data breaches and fallen to hackers.

To all the haters out there, STOP using yet another data breach to peddle your "Brand X sucks, and here's proof" crapola that nobody else wants to hear.

I think it's very dangerous to just wave this sort of thing away.

Everyone should take reasonable steps to protect their devices and data. That's true of both corporations and individuals. Some corporate data breaches are preventable, if the IT department simply does a better job. Likewise, it's important that you and I apply important security updates on our devices when they become available.

This article is simply trying to alert people that they should update any Apple devices they own.

Yes, the exact same kind of issues are sometimes discovered with Android as well. That doesn't make them any less important.

The purpose of my post was to underscore the hypocrisy of people who do wave away this sort of thing if it's their wireless or phone provider. However, if it's the other guy, they light into them without mercy.
