It doesn’t work for spoofed numbers. The app won’t recognize a spoofed number as spam.

There's no "silver bullet" for robocalls. Fighting them effectively requires a number of different technologies. This is just one.

The part that specifically combats spoofing is the STIR/SHAKEN protocol. That can only work well when the whole telecom industry implements it, which will take time.
