Can 5G replace other networks?

5G has download speed of more than 1Gb per second, can we replace the wired/WiFi network with it?

Using a mobile connection (5G or 4G) for home internet is usually not the cheapest nor most reliable way to get internet at home, but it can make sense for some people in certain situations.

The big catch is the soft data cap in most "unlimited" mobile data plans. With most plans, your data will drop to 3G speeds after you use something like 22 GB in a month. That's almost never an issue on a phone. But if you're streaming TV at home over that connection, you can hit that threshold pretty quickly, and then TV streaming will basically stop working for the rest of that billing cycle. That's why mobile 5G is not really a viable option for home internet if you're a "cord cutter".
