Instead of sprint building out the network better they find a way to stick it to you for some more $$$$$. They should give these out for free to people who get little or no signal in their homes for no extra monthly fee, then it would be a good thing. If your paying 100 dollars a month for service you shouldnt have to pay more to get service

Many people in older brick houses or concrete apartments do not get good signal inside of their homes. It has nothing to do with the coverage in their area, the signal simply does not penetrate those thick, solid materials well. This is a great option for them. Also Sprint is not the only carrier with this product, I know T-Mobile has one as well.

I agree the extra coverage should be free when you pay full price for the unit. I don't mind the extra cost for unlimited calling in the house though.

What are you talking about? Sprint has spent the past 3 years agressively building out their network by the use of synergy sites (adding CDMA to exisiting Nextel IDEN cell sites). They have tremendously improved their network from what they use to have pre-merger by adding thousands of new towers to the network. These improvements have happened in ALL markets as well. The IDEN side of things have also greatly improved. I keep wondering why all this false negative perception keeps floating around.

Yep, Larry.... all your posts have been on the money. Not carrier is perfect and it just goes to show how human nature is regarding negative experience. Sprint has had it's customer service problems but it is MUCH improved but people wouldn't know and continue to bash them out of old habit. Sprint has an excellent network overall and most people don't know they had only a 1.8% churn rate last quarter as all the WHINERS left already! 🙂
