G6 is a strange choice

I'm surprised the V30 is the honorable mention vs. the G6. All anyone could manage to say about the G6 when it was released was "Oh, how could they release a flagship with last year's processor" or how it's LCD display is inferior to competing OLED displays"? Despite the fact that LG actually beat Samsung to the punch by bringing to market a phone with the newer aspect ratio by a month or two and the fact that Samsung had a limited time exclusivity agreement to have first dibs on the SD 835 making that processor unavailable to LG for months. Yet the V30 is the honorable mention despite having features and stats actually on par with current flagship devices?

True the G6 may have shipped with last years processor but it's a good phone. So the screen isn't OLED but it's a damn good screen considering. Accurate colors, bright, HDR. Overall for the price it was a steal. I don't like the screen on the V30. They're not as good as Samsungs panels and suffers from blue shift.

I can mostly agree with you, but follow up comments from most owners seem to indicate a lot of review sites may have been sent pre-production models with much worse displays than later batches. Also, the V30, in addition to a current generation processor also gets double the storage space at 64 gb. Those are a couple of pretty hefty benefits over the G6. Not to mention the quadDac which LG for some reason decided to only include in G6s selling in certain regions.

Definitely would have chosen the V30 over the G6. Cant argue with the Quad DAC and "Note Killer" nickname. I thing the V30 is what the G6 should have been.

V30 screen sucks and it's overpriced. Most will opt for Galaxy at that price point anyway instead. No one really cares about Quad DAC except audiophiles. It's definitely not a Note killer without the pen and awful screen. LG really needs to work on it's OLED manufacturing. I agree with PS original assessment. For the money, the G6 is the better value.

Add in double the internal storage at 64 gb and the current generation cpu and I'm in total agreement with you.
