Statement Makes No Sense

How does lowering the price on a phone very few have heard of make more sense than an ad campaign to actually get your name out there? Also, a gift card to buy more of your stuff is not being good to your early adopters who could have kept the money in their bank accounts if they'd waited just a few weeks. Essential gets the interest and not the customer.

Because they did not reserve any money from the project for advertising and were banking on Sprint helping them "get the name out", which is both foolish and something that will never happen to a Tier 3 OEM. Sprint will keep the price high and this thing will be forgotten here in a few months. Why companies try to compete with the Apple/SAM is something I will never understand.
