The End of Cable/Satellite TV Is Near

Jun 22, 2017, 6:05 PM
With the advent of Hulu, Netflix, and now YouTube, more and more people will be cutting the cord to traditional pay-for-TV providers. I have Spectrum Internet, but I have no desire whatsoever to add their cable service. 200+ channels of nothing much to watch is what you get.

You are misinterpreting what YouTube TV is. It's basically the same thing that cable does, just without the hardware and streamed over the internet. They still do packages. At present, they are just smaller due to not having deals in place with all of the providers.

Eventually YouTube, Sling, Playstation VUE, etc. will be like cable, with hundreds of channels. They all offer slates of channels in packages

Even Hulu is continually making deals with providers to expand the content and even offering "Live TV".

What you are referring to is more on the line of just subscribing to the Networks's individual service (e.g. HBO Now, CBS All Access), which will still bundle all the channels under those umbrellas.
