I believe Alltel will one day be purchased by the great and mighty VERIZON WIRELESS. The way the Cellular Industry is going, I believe there will only be three or four major carriers! I know Verizon will be one and also Cingular and Sprint. So enjoy T-Mobile and USCC while they last!

But I do believe Alltel will bow down to the GREAT and MIGHTY VERIZON WIRELESS

Im not sure why you would suggest that Verizon might buy Alltel. Carriers use the same phones re-branded all the time. Plus, with Alltel having a network that is similiar, if not better than Verizon and plans that include more minutes, it seems Alltel is poised to grow very rapidly at this point.

A couple things here.... T-Mobile is owned by Deutsche Telekom and will never get bought out by a big guy cause they are a big guy. Alltel and USCC however are fair game. Lastly I hope people know to never buy a phone that starts with letters PN. PN-215, PN 230, etc. all junk! 😁 Pantech is no good 😛

I wouldn't count on T-Mobile never being bought out. It almost happened once already. Cingular was all set to buy them out. They were in the process of doing so actually when T-Mobile suddenly had a good quarter and pulled out of the sale at the last moment.

It's almost happened once, I wouldn't say it's out of the question.

This buying people out stuff has gotten really out of hand. Carriers shouldn't be increasing their number of subscribers by buying a smaller company and providing worse service. That's why oil prices are getting out of hand. Their are only a hand full of oil companies left to buy oil from because the smaller companies couldn't stay afloat and got bought out by other Exxon and the like. In my opinion it's very dangerous to us, the customers with all these buy-outs.

Buying out another company is'nt just to get more customers. when cingular bought out AT&T wireless they got all of the towers that AT&T had that means instead of going through all of the red tape and cost of building a new tower cingular kinda flips a switch and it's theres
and that phone is really ugly

I'm not a T-Mobile subscriber, but they are backed by the strong German T-Mobile, and they have over 20 million subscsribers, so they seem like a strong company to me.

But I certainly agree with'ya about Alltel, I'm actaually surprised Veriaon hasn't already bought them.

Verizon can't afford to buy Alltel. Alltels total value is pretty high, considering network holdings, which include some GSM spectrum and towers in the mid-West.

Nevermind the headache that Verizon would have trying to convince the customers Alltel has to move to plans that include less for the money.

You sure do know quite a bit about Alltel.
I live in Las Vegas, and as far as I know, Alltel doesn't have any presence here.

But anyway, I'm pretty loyal to Cingular, the only other wireless carrier I might consider is Helio, because I appreciate that Sky Dayton understands how DEPRIVED us "Gadget Geeks" are in the U.S. of inovative handsets!!!

Alltel is all over the place network wise, however, they are still about 5 markets from being a national carrier from my understanding.

As to my knowledge, I work for Alltel, and try to keep up on a lot in the background for them, and as many carriers as I can, helps me to understand what I'm selling, and selling against.

SO Alltel is quite a bit bigger than I'm aware, ha?

So would you go as far as to say that Alltel is this countries 5th biggest wireless carrier, T-Mo being #4?

Good ? for'ya, this Financial Times article, how up-to-date is it??? Because I believe Cingular has 3 or 4 million more customers than Verizon.

Much love to Rollover! ! !

So what is the date of the article?

You are correct foneguy. Verizon couldn't afford to buy out the nations largest wireless network. I work for Alltel now and my roommate works for Verizon. Alltel is overall less expenive for a more complete service area. Verizon has A LOT of dead area especially here in WY. Verizon does have better features though. Their mobile web, ring back tones and txt msg are all cheaper than Alltel.

First off... you work for the company, so you should understand the gimmick behind "The Nations Largest Wireless Network."

MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH.... Alltel will be bought out. Make no mistake of it. Most likely by VZW, but if not them then Sprint. This is where I make the brain-washed employee understand that Alltel is spinning off its wireline division... AND getting rid of GSM assets... making it even more affordable than it is right now. And make no mistake that they are affordable right now. The company is only worth about 25 Billion. If you think that is a lot go back and look at how much Sprint spent to aquire Nextel... and all the affiliates its buying up. Also, look at how much VZ will have to pay to buy out Vodaphone. If your ...

🤣

I am an Alltel employee and I know that Alltel will not sell out to any other company. I mean Why should they?! Alltel has so much to offer and of course has a much better network than the other carriers.Verizon on the other hand does have a lot of dead zones,as well as sprint.

Its amazing that you ignored everything I said in that post. I want to tell you a story now of a Nextel employee... he was asked before Sprint purchased Nextel... "Are you guys being bought out?"... his reply... "No, Sprint couldn't buy us."

I can promise you this as well... Alltel has less coverage than both Sprint and VZW. Maybe your market is an exception... who knows? And no matter how much Alltel "has to offer" don't confuse that with a price tag. at 26 Billion... Alltel is ripe for the picking... not only that, but I once again want to introduce you to the words "hostile takover" meaning that Alltel could be bought out even if the company doesn't want to sell. Offer shareholders more than the value of their stock, and *POOF* there g...

Thank you for being smart... these Alltel employees seem to be insanely uneducated... or like I said before... brainwashed. I hope Sprint acquires Alltel; I think that it would be a good fit, plus it would finally put them on top of the wireless world. Which I would love to rub in the "MIGHTY VERIZONs" face...

ALLTEL is a pretty big company as well, and is owned by the Ford family. They are very much active in Mergers buying up smaller regionals, and I dont see them being acquired anytime soon. No way Tmobile is getting bought, they have way too much German backing.
