Uh, that's more than RIM initially was going to fork over. About $162.5 million or so more...

Since when is $612 million dollars not a lot of money? What planet are we on again?

Usually when we see a company take over or fines were usually talking billions here. I was sure RIM was going to end up owing them a couple billion dollars. Thats all I meant.

The fact that it clears them of all past infrigement AND gives them a perpetual license is a victory for RIM. What NTP was asking for was a percentage of ongoing future sales, which they didn't deserve because all the patents have seen been revoked.
