For years carriers have side stepped this profitable flaming pile of doggy doo that was left on the front porch and invoices of their subscribers.

All the while on the "take" getting highly profitable kick backs from the third party premium content providers for doing nothing more than allowing it to happen to their subscribers.

As well as blaming the end user subscriber for its existence.

"- well, only you or someone authorized by you to use this line could of subscribed to this and consented to the 3rd parties terms"

"- it's a three step opt in process, I seriously doubt it was unintentional or an accident as you are claiming Mr/Mrs Customer as you are claiming"

In general I agree that people do bring this on themselves, however for me this one is 'iffy', because while it is indeed impossible to get signed up for this stuff accidentally, it is also very easy for customers who don't know much about technology (which is honestly the vast majority) to get signed up for this stuff without knowing there is a charge for it. I would say that it is true that these content providers do take advantage of gullible people by hiding fees and making it difficult to unsubscribe. I don't really think it is fair to blame the carrier though, because the carrier is nothing more than a middle man. They should go after the content providers directly.

If it was your kid; smack them one. Just make sure it's not in public, your not being video taped, and your not an NFL player. 🤣
