verizon will not be getting the Q first as it will initially be gsm and a t-mobile exclusive. i have heard this from t-mobile but Also from executives at Motorola. i work for tmobile if you are trying to question my credibility. 😉

Honestly, I don't belive this.

1. Cingular has bought the exclusive rights to Motorola's RAZR line. The Q is a part of that line. T-Mobile will most likely get it at a later time.

2. I don't think T-Mobile is dumb enough to blow their money on an exclusive to a phone. They are already $11 billion in debt and need all the money they can get to buy 3G specturm and build out a 3G network.

actually, cingular bought exclusive rights to the RAZR only, not the whole line, and only for 100 days from it's release last november. Tmo has the razr right now.

They may shell out money for an exclusive phone like this to lure the business customers and leech off of cingular's 3G network when it comes to that

T Mo HAS the RAZR last time I checked (with EXCLUSIVE video, too). Plus, they might not go 3G, since they wont be able to bid on a network till early 2007, so they might go a whole other direction by then.

t-mobile IS committing to exclusive phones, and why would motorola, AND t-mobile (separate sources) confirm with me and my staff that the RAZRBERRY/Q would be initially launched only with t-mobile?

cingular HAD rights to the silver razr but that expired and now t-mobile has the silver one. cingular still has held on to the black one. T-Mobile will have the PEBL as an exclusive as well.

ALSO... does anybody remember that T-mobile usa had the 7100t blackberry as an exclusive for 6 months?????????????

these are facts, not fiction.

I've heard differently from a source at Motorola.

While there is a GSM prototype of the Q, apparently its production is not certain. They may skip it and work on a 3G WCDMA version instead.

The CDMA EV-DO version, however, is definite. So if T-Mobile has any exclusive, it would have to be on the GSM version only, and whether it will ship appears iffy.

well there are lot of rumors out there but I did hear from both t-mobile and motorola about t-mobile being the first to carry it (regardless of gsm /wcdma/amps/cdma/tdma/3g/evdo/and all those other acronyms)

yeah, let tmobile mess up again! Seems as if tmobile, sprint, and cingular always try the phones first then have multiple problems with them 😁
