Now, I truely couldn't care less about the cancelation of this phone. However it marks a disturbing trend away from clamshell style PDA and smartphones.

It is very very likely that I'll not get another PDA/Smartphone until they start making new clamshell models.

Am I the only one?

Nope. I have absolutely no desire to carry around some non-flip behemoth. Gimme a flip any day (Windows-based).

I too am concerned about the availability of flip-style PDA phones. I've been using a Samsung i500 for over two years and there is still no suitable replacement available or even on the horizon. Sprint cancelled the anticipated replacement (i550) last year and now they have discontinued the i500. I'd rather have a Palm flip-phone, but I'd go Windows before I go brick. Now it looks like all clamshell PDA phones are disappearing. The only hope left seems to be LG, who recently licensed the Palm OS, but that's got to be over a year away.
