REGRET IT LATER... SOS from VZW. Here is a great feature... well almost a feature, well yes it does play music BUT you will have to download it from OUR site. Sorry, you cannot transfer it to your card reader them stick it in your phone... but is has Bluetooth... kind of. VZW legal team must have woke up because they finally put the "crippled" statements in their description.

But see, if he complains...along with all the other folks complaining, maybe Verizon will do something about their Nazi-like grip on their data services. When we fork out this kind of money, we expect the kind of freedom other carriers offer.

Why complain... Just learn to hack. Just make sure that you have lock/line before you hack because if you screw up, warranty will not help you at all 😁

Slashdot had a competition to see if anybody could hack the bluetooth when the V710 first came up, and no one was successful.

Take this into consideration: I choose to hack on my own accord. The reasonings of a hacker are purely selfish. I don't hack to help others. If other people benefit from my actions, its a purely unintentional side-effect. I hack my phone because it has many features I want and other that can be gained through software manipulation. Do you actually believe that I care about the phones of the millions of subscribers to the same company? 🤣 You can b***h, moan, and complain to the coporate machine all you want and get eventual results. Or, you can take a risk and get an immediate solution. Hacking firmware (or smartphone OS) is like installing NoS to your Honda. You know that you will either get that boost of speed you want o...

Pardon me, but I did not address your final question in that last post. Do I think it wrong to provide feedback or constructive is wrong? No, not at all. In fact, feedback is the only way that a company will know how to adjust their business strategy in order to have a happy customer, stockholder, and good value. However, feedback to the wireless industry is a slow and arduous process. It can also be complicated. I ask you, do you honestly think the feedback of thousands of consumers would indeed shape a million subscriber-based marketing technique in a short period of time? 🤣 I say. The complaints of the few (on a million person scale) would have as much effect of bird poo on a windshield. The driver (board of directors) would ...

Sometimes all it can take is ONE voice, provided that voice is loud enough. Since we never know which voice will be the one which tips the balance, it's best to go right ahead and make your opinions known to the company in question. If everybody takes the "it won't make a difference, let somebody else figure it out" attitude, then it's a certainty that no changes will be made, since the company won't have any idea there's a problem. Suffering in silence is stupid, when there are other options available, such as refusing to buy crippled products and sending email from the company web site stating why you aren't going to buy the phone and requesting a change in policy to allow all the profiles to be available. Publicity is a good thing as we...

All your points are valid. I, however, am impatient when it comes to technology. I'd rather risk it and impose my will upon the circuitry 😁
Instead of waiting in line with the rest of the consumers, I'll sneak around to the side door 😁

And if you're competent in that regard, more power to you. I'm more likely to summon an alien invasion force to destroy the earth with my hacking efforts. God Bless.

You seem really upset. I just don't understand all the anger towards verizon. You know you can port your number don't you? Or have you done that and are still upset with verizon. Sounds like you need a good run.

I think you have to keep talking about it. That's the only way you might have change. Who knows, maybe the CEO of Verizon reads this forum, and decides to "Lift the Bluetooth Block!" That has about 5% chance of happening. My point is this. Cingular has 10 phones which you can transfer 100mb all the way up to 1GB of music onto. And you don't have to pay a dime for any music or downloading service. Can you hear ME now?

Do you really think you need to keep "talking" about it? The only way VZW will ever change is when the bottom line is in trouble. If you compain and complain but still stay with them it is like saying I hate you, but it is ok because I love you. Take your money else where if you want to make a difference. It is basic economics.
