*Whistles* A 3 megapixel camera, eh? Why do I get the distinct feeling these models are destined for Europe?

Because Americans of the Deep South variety tend to think they should get your top of the line Moto for $9.99 without signing a contract?
And think you're the most evil person ever if you pull one out for them to sign?

That is true Phydeaux. I never could understand how people in the US wants the best (and will pay for it) when it comes to electronics EXCEPT for cellphones.

In this instance the reason the US will never see these phones released is b/c 3G in Europe operates on the 2100 MHz frequency and that is not the case in the US. Cingular is implementing 3G at 1900 MHz and TMobile hasn't really started their's although it will probably be on 1900 as well.

This all makes the main feature(s) of the phone useless in this country and nothing more than a battery drain.

Um...who's post are you responding to? I was just pointing out that these handsets are probably headed to Europe because of their specs. And I hate to burst your bubble...but people are cheap all over the U.S.

Cheap all over the US is true.

And buying cheap electronics isnt only limited to cell phones. Americans happen to buy their fair share of crappy electronics as well, other than cell phone. They're the reason my father has a very successful business repairing electronics. Because of all those people that buy a DVD player for $50 from Blockbuster Video and wonder why it isn't working the next day.

Americans like the cheap way out, then they bitch when they realized they've gotten shafted, when it's no ones fault but their own.

And when I say Americans, I dont mean every single one, I'm talking from what I've seen, and from the large volumes of people I've seen come into my dads store with bunks ass electronics that stop working aft...

And I am pointing out that we're never going to see these phones in the US beyond the technology/gsm issues that people expect everything to be free with activation. Or less. :p

Riiiiiiiight. So when I mention that these handsets might be destined for Europe because of their very high end features, YOU chime in with nonsense about the "Deep South". Yeah, I'M slow. 🙄

Two others concurred with my line of thinking. I've seen this isn't the first time you've tried to condescendingly attack another user. Troll again, and you're out, muchdrama.

I think it's more because providers insist on giving us shoddy phones. $80.00 for a Motorola V220? You know you can get a Megapixel cameraphone on Sprint for that price.

In fact, other than Sprint (who has a 2MP cameraphone in their lineup) (I'd say Verizon, except they keep locking their phones down tighter than a gnat's behind) , and the occaisional nice phone from Cingular (the V3, The 7610) , providers seem to fear next-generation phones.

Can you blame them? Cingular charges 1 cent per KB for data.
