CAR CHARGER

I was cautioned in the Verizon store yesterday not to use the car charger that I was using for my Motorola Timeport.

I looked at the specs on the desktop charger. The Timeport charger says: 5.9 v, 400 ma. The v710 charger says 5.9 v, 375 ma. I'm not an electricity mavin, but doesn't that seem almost identical? The car charger worked just fine on the old phone, is there any reason I shouldn't use it?

Thanks!!
Chargers and Data Cables as well as the FM Radio works are the same for the following models:
Motorola T720, T720i, T721, T722i, T730, T731, V70, V300, V400, V600, V710, V60i, V60c, V60p(PTT), V60s, V60t, V60t Color, V60g, V60x, V66, V120c, 120t, 120...

WE ALL NEED TO COMPLAIN: HERES HOW

There are 2 agencies that regulate Verizon:

1) Federal Trade Commision which handles complaints about fraud, false advertising and deceptive business practices, amoung other things. You can file a complaint on their web site www.ftc.gov WE ALL NEED TO FILE COMPLAINTS. They work on a NUMBERS basis. The more complaints, the more chance of them doing something. SPREAD THE WORD.. go everywhere you can and encourage complaints. THIS WILL REALLY TURN UP THE HEAT!!

2) Federal Communications Commission which regulate the airways. They regulate Verizon and have the potential to go after verizon too. www.fcc.gov

THIS IS AN ELECTION YEAR and they tend to be more responsive now.

Can someone tell me how to use mp3 ringtones?

Can someone tell me how (if possible) to use an mp3 ringtone on my V710 through Verizon? I have downloaded mp3 ringtones from Sony Musicbox which is available through Get It Now. The ringtone plays fine if I just play it as a media file. However, when I assign it as a ringtone, it will not work. Instead, I just get the generic ringer. I have done nothing to the phone and have added nothing. Please exlain (in detail and laymen's terms) what I need to do to be able to have mp3 ringtones. Thanks.
Do a search on this forum for "using mp3 ringtones" and read the threads.

U can use MP3 frm pc to tf to fon as a ringtone!

Everyone seems to think that when you transfer a mp3 from your pc, to your TF card, and then move it to your phone that you cannot use it as a ringtone. it was discused how to accomplish this using iTunes to create the mp3 ringtone (25secs). The ext. has to be *.mid or yourmp3.mid for it to work as a ringtone however. All other "songs" can remain as mp3 or *.mp3. Sometimes you do have to set or apply as a ringtone before it to be available in your rintone list. I don't think VZW is aware of this however.
Please?
I didn't have to change mine to a .mid, just left it as an .mp3 and works fine as a ring tone. There is a great post on this site that works perfect.

screen probs - help!

I am about to go insane!!!!!

Ok, yesterday I was talking to a friend. I wanted to switch to bluetooth, so I went to the menu. When I did the phone seemed to partially open the menu, then the graphics froze. I could still talk, however, and finished the call.

When I turned the phone off and then powered it up again, the internal screen was bright white with nothing on it. In every other way, the phone works normally. The external screen still works normally. I can still make calls, receive calls, use bluetooth, use the camera (with the external screen), dial or access menus (by memory) and get caller-id (on the external screen). The only problem is that the internal screen comes up blank white every time.

Any suggestions????? 😢
Maybe a master reset? Not sure exactly what that does (haven't seen my owners manual in ages) and you'd need to know what you password is for that, but it MAy do the trick (hopefully without losing any tones or applications/games you may have download...

Transferring mp3 files from email to the phone

Guys, please help me out here. i just tried to send an email with mp3 file (i was sending it as an attachment) to my phone. I couldnt do it-the file is not downloadable. several months ago it was working yet. i called Verizon and they told me that they blocked it but if i get expansion card (which of course i dont have) i will be able to receive and download mp3 file. the file i try to get over to my phone is 300kb, the available memory (which is embeded into the phone) 3MB. Please tell me the way to get mp3 files to my phone! Thanks a lot!
Verizon does not recognize mp3 attachments even though your phone does. So here's what you do:
You rename the file from *.mp3 to *.mid (MIDI format). Then you e-mail it to your phone and it will work like a charm. Remember Verizon has a restriction o...

Dust under main screen

I have had this problem three times now the first two phones vz replaced now they tell me they don't replace them now because of dust. it's so bad then when in sunlight you can't even see the screen. so I noticed a review where you can order a replacement screen from china and just peel off the old one with a razor knife, which I done, except after 3 months they never shipped the new screen plus I think you need to seal the phone so that dust can't re-enter the phone. Any one know if there is website that you can buy these screens from???

This function is not currently available through bluetooth. You will have to use something like mobile PhoneTools with a USB cable until Motorla and Verizon release the patch.

Can't delete a "too big" MP3 file.

I was copying an MP3 file over to my phone and didn't pay attention to how much space I had left for the file. The file was bigger than the space available, but instead of just saying it won't fit and quitting, it acted like everything was ok.

My problem is now the phone actually has part of the file on the phone, but it will not allow me to delete it. 🙄

Any suggestions? 🙂

Hidden FM radio feature on V710 for verizon?

I recently dropped my phone in a puddle and the bottom half of it was submerged. The phone still kinda works except its not really charging and I think its about to go to its grave for good. Anyway when I finally got it to go on instead of saying 'contacts' in the lower right hand corner of the screen it says 'radio'. When i push this button thhe left and right home keys turn into next buttons for the radio and under where it says Verizon Wireless in the top left it says 88.9 FM. If i push left or right it changes station. I can't hear any music and I tried plugging in headphones but music still didnt come out. Where did this glitch come from and does anyone know anything about it?

Dust Under Screen :(

Hi,

I bought a v710 off of ebay about a month ago. I use Altell (like that matters) and I have a problem.

There are noticible amounts of dust under the screen. Ive attepmpted to force compressed air into the little openings but have failed.

If anybody knows what I should do please let me know ASAP!
