U.S. Cellular Adds LG Envoy Basic Flip
TOTALLY AWESOME!??
U.S. Cellular actually does have a very competitive set of phones it carries and is launching TONS more elite level smart phones this year alone.
ALSO, USCC is a VERY profitable company. They have an incredibly dedicated customer base of over 7 million customers, and a list of awards and achievements about a mile high...to sum it up...they aren't in a situation that anyone would need to buy them out 🙂

At the moment, slightly more than half of all phone purchases are smartphones which means ALMOST HALF THE WORLD STILL GETS THESE TYPES OF PHONES!!!!
NO IT DOESN'T HAVE WHAT YOU WANT, BUT IT ALSO DOESN'T COST A FORTUNE TO OWN!!

The numbers for smartphones only continue to each year that goes by. By quite a bit.
They should continue to rise for a while. I agree. I am not convinced it will lead to the demise of the "dumb" flip phones like this though. Still a market out there for them and will be for some time.
I'm kinda sad that flip phones in the U.S. never evolved into more usable and advanced devices similar to the Sharp V903.
A while ago Vzn had a flip phone from Samsung that had a good camera where the screen would rotate and be flat for use as a camera.
Flip phones just stopped evolving.
She has the Casio Exilim right now which is a decent upgrade to the Samsung. 5mp camera that flips and military spec. Doesn't have the bulk of the typical military spec phones though which is nice. Doesn't have to worry about the kids grabbing and destroying it 😁
I guess with a smartphone there are too many compromises for a flip design.
