T608 for Verizon?

Can this model T608 be used on the Verizon Wireless network? It uses the same frequencies as my current V60s (850 AMPS, 850 CDMA, and 1900 CDMA). Can you buy this phone in the USA?

Sony t608 and Jabra 250 earphone: too many dropped calls

😡
The phone was purchased from Sprint in June, 2004 along with a Jabra 250 headset. I am on my 3rd T608 as of Jan. 14, 2005. Why?

I am a high time user- 3500 minutes +/month. It is a very important business tool. I use the phone for voice communications only. I do not know how or care to connect it to my laptop. I have had a plague of communications problems:

a. Dropped calls, the phone goes blank during a conversation, even while it is plugged in and recharging. I have had the phone drop the signal 3 and 4 times in a 5 minute call that was well within the proximatey of multiple Sprint towers.

b. Grabbled conversations: i have had people tell me not to call them on T-608.

both a. and B. are my chief complaints. Sprint shruggs ...

Wow, I've been using a T608 on Verizon for months; it sounds great, never drops a call, and has probably the best signal of any phone I've ever used.

But I don't use mine with a BT headset at the moment (BT quality isn't good enough for "office" us...

What is dialog box in lower rt. corner

😕 😕 Have any other T608 users experienced a dialog box with "..." inside the dialog box in the lower right corner of the main screen? I have been trying to figure out what it means & the Sony Ericsson website & manual that came with the phone do not reference it.

Is Sprint relaunching this phone

I recently inquired to sprintpcs to see if they were coming out with any bluetooth phone in the near future and was told that yes they have 4 new phones coming out today Dec 4 , 2004 ! the sony ericsson t608, palm one treo 650, lg pm 325, and pcs pp-660. But now I have found out that the sonyericsson had been out for over a year but never marketed to the general public. So i am just wondering if this phone has had a software upgrade and battery problem fixed and does the bluetooth work well? I may try it and see what happens anyway. I also have the new sanyo mm 7400 and it is the most advanced phone to date that i have ever seen. All this phone needs is bluetooth. Anyway, let hope that sanyo makes a bluetooth phone for sprint ASAP.

SMS

Can this phone work w/regular SMS if it's ported over to Verizon (who uses SMS). This is an important feature which will influence my decision in buying this thing.

Also, is this phone even still available? Everywhere I look, I see that it's discontinued.

Is this phone still available through the telesales?

If so, what's the cost?

Am I better off just buying it on eBay? Let me know. Thanks.

New to T608

I just received my new phone via PCS-AUTO, and have just activated it. I'll plan to post a user review once I've familiarized myself with it, but a few first observations:

PROS
--great compact size
--light weight
--reasonably loud ringers
--bluetooth

CONS
--dubious battery life (already showing diminished battery life and I've hardly used it)
--screen is hard to read in sunlight
--menus do seem slow to me

The phone seems reasonably well-constructed, and so far the menus seem intuitive and the sound quality a great improvement over my Sanyo 4900 (an otherwise unimpeachable device).

My intention is to use this phone to connect to the web w/ my G4 Powerbook, and any input from others is most welcome and appreciated.

Have you gotten the G4 Powerbook to use the T608 to access the web? I'd love help getting the kinks out...

Also have you used it as a Fax source for OS X printer menu link to fax... I get it to recognize the send ( ie. it sees a busy signal on the...

Logitech Setpoint

I just purchased my T608 off eBay and got it in today, Ive got the Logitech diNovo keyboard and mouse set which has a usb hub as well. The software I got with my diNovo is Logitech's Setpoint which controlls the three piece set, well on top of that the logitech software allowed me to recognize the phone and gives me a full range of options such as syncing with microsoft outlook, setting up a virtual serial connection, and using the phone as a modem. I would highly suggest this setup to anyone using the t608 phone its extremely easy to use.

PC/outlook sync

does anyone know if this phone can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook - calendar and contacts?
what is required to make that work?
I am not an expert but I have been able to sync the phone and Outlook. For starters, your PC will need to be bluetooth compatible. I use a linksys "dongle" to accomplish that.

The "dongle" comes with software that allows the sync, but you are mu...

speed dialing with the t608?

Have a T608 and I love it.

Question, though: it isn't immediately clear (to me) how to speed dial (apart from voicemail). Is there a way to do this besides using voice commands?

Thanks...
the company i work for decided to not carry this phone except by our tele sales dept. i did get to play with one for a couple of days that a employee of sony ericsson left. you should be able to push the numbers coresponding to the entry and push talk...

Headphone

I finally got my T608 sprint phone. I purchased a Motorola wireless headset, it doesn't work well with my phone. Any suggestion on which headset is best for the T608. 🙂
Jabra makes a bad ass headset for this phone, its been bluetooth enabled for as long as its been out. sprint sells it radioshack, all the big stores sell it, its a 100 bucks and is not that bulky like other wireless headsets.

The phone will sync with outlook, that's great news.

how do you sync via bluetooth on your pc. Do you buy a ubs bluetooth adapter? does that work well?
In my case, I've got the next best thing to a powerbook...an IBM Thinkpad T40p. Bluetooth is built-in. But folks at the T608 forum on sprintpcsinfo.com have had luck with usb bluetooth dongles. I'd suggest checking there.

As far as Outlook synch...

First CDMA bluetooth phone in NA? What about Timeport 270c?

"...the first CDMA phone for North America with Bluetooth wireless technology..."

What about the Motorola TimePort 270c? It had bluetooth and was CDMA.
As I recall (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) the 270c required an adapter to enabled Bluetooth. I know that was the case with the Sony Ericsson T61c, which was sold through Verizon Wireless indirects such as RadioShack about a year ago.

The T6...
