IEC Finalizes MicroUSB Charging Spec for Phones

I am surprised to see Apple on this list. They are in a world all by themselves. Apple doesn't do anything that is standard with the rest of an industry.
And I am kinda curious as to why HTC isn't on the list.
I do love the standardization of microusb, I can use any microusb charger from any manufacterer.

The way USB works, it should already be compatible, as USB has very specific power draw limits (3.3v and 5v 500ma tops)

i think its because they wont be able to sell their iphones in europe if they dont comply..
i guess htc is not there because their already complying?
(im also wondering how they'll be able to do it..cause microUSB i think is againt their design ...
