How is this news?its a 4 year old phone at this point.There is much better phones out now,people please read the specs on an iphone and compare to an EVO or any of the new Andriod devices.No flash support,only 5 mp camera,smaller lcd ???? people really will buy this just because its apple? and dont forget if you touch the side of the phone it will disconnect call...lol...its almost funny if not sad 🤣

Do you think that it will be able to be jailbroken and unlocked to use on other cdma networks such as Sprint, US Cellular, Cricket, and MetroPcs?
It may be possible if Sprint were willing to accept it on their network, but not likely.

As of now, not possible w/ Sprint. It's not going to be a situation where you can call and talk them into it either... Sprint only activates phones made for thier network. The activation process requires you give the devices ESN, and will only accept ...

Sour Grapes going on! Now that it has finally been announced several people want to say, "Fine, it sucks anyway! It'll suck for Verizon." Well, Verizon did great counter marketing against the iPhone for AT&T and has grown strong with Android. Now, with the iPhone, they will be even stronger because they have more to offer. They are not dependant on iPhone, they are partnered with Apple, just as they are partnered with Motorola, Samsung, LG, and others. Whether you like the iPhone or not, whether you like Verizon or not, this is a good thing for the industry as a whole. More options is always better.

What about LTE?
If Verizon really wanted to make a huge splash, they would have introduced an iPhone to run on their new LTE network. That's one of the reasons I'm not rushing in as much as I've always wanted one.
Well, VZW hasn't announced the data plans for LTE smartphones. We don't know what the plans will cost or if they will be unlimited. At least we know what we are signing up for with a 3G smartphone: Unlimited data for 29.99 (less with an employee disco...

Cricket may just let you do that, providing apple hasn't found a way to prevent that.
I think this is great!
I think that this is going to be good for the market. People that want an Iphone but don't have good coverage through AT&T can now get one. Hopefully we gain the ability to compare networks and technologies with less speculation. It should encourage network advancements and competition as well. I still prefer my Droid but welcome the idea of a Verizon Iphone. 😎
