To be honest this doesnt surprise me in the slightest. Terrorists have been trying to get their hands on a U.S. cell phone company since they could carry suicide bombs. I think we need to stop carrying Huawei made phones and stick with what works like Samsung and RIM. Japan and Canada have never steered us wrong before.
Samsung is South Korean.
"Japan and Canada have never steered us wrong before."

I agree. Hiro Hito was only following the American Imperialist model.

Politics, Politics!

Haliburton have been supplying sensitive equipment to Iran, these republican weasels have nothing to say about that! Btw, I am not a Democrat. 😉

I call BS

American corporations have supported and sold products for years to enemy nations. IBM and nazi Germany for example... This is just a BS political ploy from stupid republicans.

--has been underbidding other network companies in Europe with insanely cheap bids due to China's slave labor work force. That's a reason right there to give them the boot. I wouldn't trust their quality anyway.
very true i see more of these phones come back from this one company the , htc, moto, samsung, nokia combined.
There phones are crap
"Slave labor"?

Seriously. They may not get paid high wages, but they make something. People are funny.

Where are the little green men?

Are we really thinking that the chinese military is going to take over the cellular industry in the states by organizing a sale of networking equipment?

A little paranoid. Really.

There are plenty of companies that have done business with questionable people overseas. Shoot, remember that whole business with the Saudis and Bushs' a few years back?

What I really don't get is what is the big worry. Send over some networking equipment that's going to turn on us? Maybe send over there critically acclaimed phones to flood our market already dominated with phones manufactured in China? What's more likely is one of these senators has a very real fiscal responsibility to a competitor, and is screaming wolf.
Sounds about right.
Much CDMA technology is used in military communications. I think the concern is valid enough to look into for the sake of our service personel

I can see their point but still very odd when so many manufacturers supply multitude of military program.
but the minigun (m134? i think its named) that is mounted on gunships and boats across the world is made by general electric 🤣

But what about smaller carriers like MetroPCS? Do they not carry these phones too?
It's not phones they're worried about. It's network equipment, backbone stuff that could yield a lot of information...or worse...in the wrong hands.
