So how soon before someone sues?

Since you know we're all entitled buy whatever we want, however we want.
๐Ÿ™„
Iphone is the *0NLY* phone in the U.S. that the option doesn't exist to pay full retail and be contract-free.
...
Just because it isn't illegal doesn't mean you can't sue. Sometimes people sue because the law needs to be changed, interpreted differently, etc.

Iphone on Verizon or T-mobile

Sounds to me like the iphone is going to be leaving att. ๐Ÿ‘€ The rumors appear to be even more true now that poor lil att is trying to lock the iphone down and get as many subs on contract as possible before this happens. Its all good whatever carrier gets it next if its not Sprint idont care! ๐Ÿ˜ But that ispot from Sprint is awesome and make the iphone seem a bit more enticing because there's no data cap! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
AT&T is not losing the iPhone, they're losing their EXCLUSITIVITY. You really think Apple is going to cease making a GSM/HSPA iPhone?
...
The APPLE STORE is no longer selling the phone without a contract. The article states that you can still purchase the phone outright at ATT. Why is it that everything APPLE does, that people don't agree with, is ATT's fault?
...
It would not be to Apple's advantage to offer the iPhone on more carriers, Apple's contract with AT&T basically says that Apple has the right to anal rape AT&T all day and all night...there is really no way Apple is going to be able to enter into a si...

How does that work?

Apple is locking people down on AT&T contracts...so that means they're making a phone for verizon and tmobile?

That makes zero sense.

If that was true, they wouldn't be forcing a contract on at&t. It wouldn't matter to Ap...

It's only the online store, not the apple store.

iPhone will move from AT&T to Verizon early next year, so the AT&T Contract is not attractive any more.

Can someone explain this?

Apple is not a carrier. They are a phone manufacturer. So my question is: "If" the iPhone is going to another carrier, why should Apple require or even care that ATT hold a two year contract for their product or not?
You answered your own question there. IF the phone is going to a new carrier...

Um wow....

how much scummier can apple and at&t get, that rabbit hole has no end ๐Ÿคฃ
Im sure fanboys wont care since its "a gotta have it", oh yea, have fun with those data caps too! But on the real, I can see this turning Apple users to another carrier that offers more for less.

Read the article, you can get the phone in an AT&T store for full price without contract.
...
Of course they sre evil. However, consumers can still walk into AT&T and buy the handset with no contract obligation, no? They just cannot buy it directly from Apple in that manner.

Odd ...

Seems odd that they would do this move while in Canada , and the Canadaian GSM/HSPA providers, they offer it unlocked and contract free if you want.
๐Ÿคจ How many people are actually going to go to Canada to get an iphone?
...
Apple Stores off the phone unlocked in Canada, not the providers.
