Apple Defends iPhone Antenna, Offers Free Cases
now free cases?
Or lousy 4G Reception?
Or poor network performance? 🙄
The bumper cases aren't free, Apple's just giving them to customers (or a case of their choice) if they're having issues.
for FREE, LOL wtf how you can try and take a defensive stance on this is mind blowing.
Lousy 4G reception? FALSE. Ive never been to Charlotte my friend, but I personally sold the technology in Raleigh NC and Greensboro NC both before and after it was officially bumped up to 4G, so you can really stop talking out your a$$, seriously.
Poor network performance? FALSE AGAIN. Sprint's problem has NEVER been their network, and ALWAYS been their customer service skills, and billing practices. Stop taking pot shots at just anything, you're starting to seem a little crazy, and less and less like an informed sour...

2) I'm a Sprint-goddamn-customer and Network performance is an issue as well, though not in all markets, but ESPECIALLY on their 4G network.
And you know what? my iPhone 4 pulls in faster speeds more consistently than I could on Sprint's WiMax network, and in line with what Phonescoop tested in other markets.

1) I've USED Sprint's WiMax Network in Charlotte, and you haven't. Is there any question about this?

As much as I hate Sprint, I have to give them credit. I've messed around with an Evo 4G and a friends iPhone 4 in Philadelphia and I found the Evo to be consistently faster than the iPhone. You are so full of it. Just STFU already. Really. You're making a fool out of yourself by ...

That's about 5x what I pull on Sprint's 3G network with my Palm Pre for upload and download, 2.5x the theoretical maximum, and 25% faster than what I've ever been able to pull on ClearWire.
(Admittedly, I don't have a rooftop I can stand on and hold an HTC EVO gingerly to test for reliable 4G signal, but what I *do* know is Sprint's upload speed is capped at 1Mbps anyway.)
So go ahead. Pull in some numbers, genius.

I have to admit that I am unsure of an upload cap from Sprint. However, I have pulled some "average" test results from the 4G network in my area:
Download:
4.34
4.67
5.12
5.02
4.48
Upload:
1.32
2.21
1.75
1.96
2.04
Judging by these numbers on my phone not an air card, I would have to say the upload cap is false and the download is extremely fast!
In all fairness, comparing 3G to 3G, I found the iPhone to be slightly faster to my Evo. But it would be wise not to compare your 3G iPhone4 to...

Good for you being a Sprint-goddamn(ed) customer... A few of us still are (thats not a stab at Sprint) I have been for 10 years all over the country, and there are areas where there isnt much coverage, but hands down, everywhere ive been with all of the big 4, in terms of network quality, they have performed the best, even when it involved free roaming on Verizon and then Alltel. Perhaps Charlotte is congested with WiMAX (i doubt it) but both on the home modem and the Evo I've pulled a consiste...

I had a data card with my laptop for a week, and I had an HTC Evo on hand for a day. The fastest I got (on the data card) was about 4mbps, but more likely it was around half that. The Evo couldn't pull in a 4G signal for the life of me, and I barely cracked above 3G speeds.
