Kinda of a waste to Sprint I feel

While I completely understand killing Virgin postpaid to just write off the subscribers as a loss is kind of a waste.

They are CDMA customers using the Sprint network; they could have just loaded the Helio ESN's into Sprint's system, created comparable plan codes in their billing system and migrated the customer's without breeching any of their agreements.

That's essentially what they did when they moved the legacy Sprint subs into the legacy Nextel billing system. This would have been even easier than those migrations were as Helio's plans were all inclusive similar to Sprint's new price plans.

Just seems like a waste.

good riddens

Not saying Sprint is the best but I used VM and it was nothing but a pain in the ass. Top-up cards not working, I bought a phone that I couldn't use due to a invalid IEMI (so they say) right out of the box, and i couldn't return it either, and overpriced junk phones with a horrible UI.
Agreed.
I sell Virgin and Boost. Virgin's phones are cheaply made. We don't sell anywhere as much Virgin Mobile as we do Boost Mobile. Better phones and taxes are included in the monthly unlimited plan. I am also glad to see the unlimited Blackberry ...

WHAT!

I stay with VM cause its the cheapest service you can buy as far as pre paid goes. And now they want you to do a contract through sprint? this is a load of crap.
I think you can go to boost as well.

Hey Ruler -

If you're on the prepaid plan on VM you don't have to switch to a contract plan on Sprint. That's only if you are currently a VM postpaid customer. You have the option to switch over to Sprint and they will give you a discount on a ph...

I almost got their prepaid service!

Good thing I didn't or I'd have lost my phone number after I ported over!
It's just the postpaid service that is going away...the Helio customers that they bought when they bought the company. The prepaid service will continue as it is now.

So no need to worry about losing your number.

Mobile Broadband?

So will I get to keep my mobile broadband the way it is? I'd hate to lose it!
I think Broadband is staying the same. That is actually onwe of the unique features the Virgin brand provides. But you would most likely receive some sort of letter if your broadband were gonna be affected.
