T-Mobile Crafts New 'Embedded SIM'

I wish they would get rid of sim cards, that would just about stop the massive world wide theft of gsm phones. If one of my customers has a Sprint or Verizon phone stolen, I call it in and that phone is then dead, good for parts only or by using gps the carrier can tell me where the phone is if it is on. If my at&t or T-Mobile customer has their phone stolen, the thief has a new phone and the customer is out of luck. I think with todays technology they could come up with a better way to allow multi-network multi-technology use without having to remove a sim card, maybe with just an access code and your numbers could be kept on a micro sd. Blackberry has some nice multi-network phones..just a thought..

the joy of using gsm is you can change networks back and forth with the use of sim cards and compatible globally. a great advantage compared to cdma which totally locks you on the network...

now that t-mobile is planning to put it inside their devices,will they be no different than the cdma counterpart?

i hope they're not trying to phase out sim slot. it's very small to bother them so i think they should just leave sim and its slot alone....
